My issue was also budget i.e. at the time I bought it 6-7 years ago the MK2.5 was WAY outside my budget, I specifically wanted to 1.8 TDCi to avoid a DPF and certainly wasn't going to risk buying one with the dodgy injectors (late 2008 to 2009 models).
Ford recommend 10 years or 100k miles so the facelift Focus' will be coming up to their 10 years now if they haven't covered the mileage. First buy the parts you need - Cambelt kit, auxilliary belt, waterpump, coolant (6 litre capacity, may get away with 5 litres), crank pulley bolt.

Engine oil leak from the intercooler hose. Focus mk2 1.6 tdci. In the photo I have fenced in yellow the place where the oil flows. What could be the problem with a leak? Also, the car lost power when climbing and more. When the accelerator pedal is pressed all the way down, it accelerates very slowly. It also shows me the following EGR errors.
