At least lowering it back down was pretty easy since there were plenty of ways to do so. You could find wanted signs everywhere to rip down for a quick 25% reduction. Bribing heralds lowered it 50%. Assassinating officials dropped it down 75% but they only appeared if you have a lot of notoriety.

They are difficult, I give you that, but the best solution would probably be kill all those pesky rifle-templars first and then let the Siege Weapon have it by putting Rifle Assassins at the ending protected by a large Barricade first, they will take it down, but keep shooting yourself, you focus on the Rifle Templars on the back first, and then keep shooting at the Siege Weapon until it falls

I understand the setting isn't great, but the entire vibe of the game just feels like the end of a great saga because it is. Tensions are high, you can feel Ezio's exhaustion, and the story just wraps things up perfectly. 3.
