Resetting the position is easy to do. Start with the doors closed and the windows all the way up. The procedure is the same for both driver and passenger windows. Turn the ignition on, then hold the window button down until the window is all the way down and continue to hold it down for about 10 seconds.

I have a BMW 118D convertible, 2009 model. The roof won't come down. When I press the button/switch for the roof to go down a red light flashes above the switch and on the screen in front of the driver's seat there is a warning symbol (same symbol as on the button/switch to close the roof).
I recently purchased a 2005 z4 and the roof isn't working. ive done some research and it seems that most problems come down to the hydraulics, a switch in the boot, or the flooded motor. it is difficult to troubleshoot because when i press the button nothing happens and the lights dont even respond. all of the issues ive seen online at least
