Contributor 1 Answer. Posted on Oct 16, 2014. Hi i have a Jag Diesel 2004, 85K. i See black smoke when i accelerate in 2nd & 3rd gear. 1 - cleaned the EGR valve. 2 - chnaged the air filter (used a performance filer) 3 - there was split in the hose pipe from intercooler to EGR - replaced that too.

The oil breather pipe from the engine vent connects close to the end of the air intake pipe, just before the pipe connects to the turbo. (20mm or so hose right on top of the intake at the bend) You might have a dribble from here if the clamp or pipe is perished or loose. It might also drip from the connection of the intake pipe to turbo.
